Mabel C. Larsen

Storm Lake, formerly of Alta and Linn Grove
December 9, 1924 - April 27, 2012

Mabel Cleone Larsen was born December 9, 1924 to Walter and Ane (Pedersen) Larsen near Milford, IA.  She was the youngest of 10 children.  Mabel attended country school near Milford until the family moved to Heron Lake, MN. After a few years her family moved to a farm north of Alta.  After her mother passed away, Mabel kept house for her father and brother.  She and her brother Roy lived in Alta and moved to an acreage near Linn Grove until Roy’s death.  Mabel moved to Storm Lake to Paradise Park and lived there for 20 years.  Her health was failing and moved to North Lake Manor. 

Mabel loved to read, and crochet.  She also made many dolls and painted many pictures.  She loved company and was always happy to see people come by.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Oscar Larsen, Roy Larsen and John Larsen; six sisters, Stena Van Wilkle, Marie Olson, Lillian Cardamon, Laura Molgaard, Millie Smith and Alma Collins.  

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
