Dale Lionel Breyfogle

Dale L. Breyfogle, age 77, of Holstein, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Westwood Specialty Care of Sioux City.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 01, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein with the Pastor Bob Lewis officiating and military rites conducted by the American Legion Dessel-Schmidt Post #225 of Holstein.  There will be no burial.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 3:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.

Dale L. Breyfogle was born July 18, 1942 to Harold and Ethel (Tolzin) Breyfogle in Holstein, Iowa.  He graduated from Holstein High School in May 1961.  A few years after graduation, he enrolled in the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam.  

Dale returned to Holstein where he was married to Ellen Uittenbogaard and they were married for fifteen years.  Dale spent the majority of his life working as a plumber.  During his time as a plumber, Dale was known for the immense pride he took completing his jobs in a timely, efficient and tidy manner.  He is also remembered for being a helpful person.  This helpful manner spilled over into his personal free time when Dale frequently took family and friends boating.  During this time he taught many to waterski.  Additionally he enjoyed spending time with friends and dancing his “full head off.”  True to this depiction, many seem to have a ‘Dale” story to share.  Dale L. Breyfogle was definitely a complex man who gave to many.

He is survived by his son, Brian T. Breyfogle and daughter, Teresa J. Breyfogle, both of Sioux City, IA and a granddaughter Gracie S. Breyfogle. Dale is also survived by five brothers, four sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; and sisters ,Verla and Margaret.
