When I saw the notice in the paper of Loween's passing, I immediately thought of seeing her every day in the lunch line at the Galva School. She and Irma made absolutely the best home-made school meals ever! Everyone was sad when we left the 8th grade to attend high school in Holstein because the food was that good! I loved lunch not only for the great food, but all the smiles to go around from her and Irma. I will forever remember the kindest she showed me during that time of my life. It meant a lot to get those smiles. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord!

I'm so sorry to read of Loween's passing. She was a sweet lady. I enjoyed the times I got to talk to her. Don was Earl's cousin. God Bless.

My sympathy on the loss of your Mother. Her Mother, Florence, was a cousin to my Father, Leslie Grell who went to Heaven in February 2008. Our family farmed Uncle Carl and Annie Stender's small farm when I was growing up. I started country school 1 mile east of their farm & when it was muddy and we were unable to drive the dirt roads, my sister and I would walk to their house and we spent many hours in their home with them. My Dad loved to go to their farm daily to check on them or check the crops. Aunt Annie and I shared birthdays on December 10, and I think of her when we celebrate. I have just turned 70 years and I have fond memories of the time I spent with them. I didn't see Loween much but had nice visits when we did see her. She was a sweet lady and I am sure she will be missed. We are assured to see our loved ones again when we reach our real home in Heaven. God be with you during this sad time. Janice Grell Jepsen
