Marge Allen Obituary

Marge Allen, age 85, of Galva, passed away on Tuesday, February 06, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein.  A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018.  Burial will be at the Galva Township East Cemetery of Galva.  A visitation will be held on Friday, February 09, 2018 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein. 

Marjorie L. (Campbell) Allen was born December 24, 1932 in Lake City, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Hazel (Blair) Campbell.  She grew up and received her education in Lake City and Lohrville.

On November 26, 1951, Marge married Daryl Allen in Blue Earth, MN.  They were blessed with 60 years of marriage.  Marge enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and mother in the Lohrville area.  In 1970 the family moved to Galva.  Marge owned and operated Allen Sundries for several years and later served the community at the Country Rose with her daughter.  In recent years, Marge enjoyed helping alongside her sons at the Cherokee Locker. 

Marge will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Family was everything to Marge and she treasured every minute she spent with them.

Marge was a member of the United Methodist Church of Galva.  She taught Sunday school for several years and volunteered at various church activities.  Marge loved to bake cookies for her friends in the congregation for fellowship time.  She trusted in Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Survivors include her daughter, Deb (Craig) Lanning of Lake View, IA; sons, Blair (Sue) Allen of Galva, IA, Dan (Suzan) Allen of Northwood, IA and Dale (Vickie) Allen of Galva, IA; 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 11 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Ray-Pete (Sharilyn) Campbell of Grand Junction, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her grandson, Derick Vielguth Allen; her brother, Donald Campbell and her sister, Dorothy Archer.
