With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Betty Lou (Henderson-Juelfs) Streeter, who peacefully left us on August 31, 2025, at the age of 95 at her home with her daughters and son-in-law by her side. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. She was the heart and soul of our family and will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home with Keith Byers officiating. A visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery.
She was born August 24, 1930, in rural Cushing, Iowa to Henry and Opal Henderson.
Betty married Duane Anson Juelfs on September 7, 1948, and from this union they had five children. They raised their family in Cushing, Iowa where Betty worked as the head cook for the Cushing school system. Duane passed away on April 15, 1980.
She married Richard Streeter in September of 1983 and they resided in Storm Lake, IA where she worked for the Storm Lake Community Schools. After retirement she moved to Correctionville, IA to spend time enjoying her grandchildren, following their activities and events and spoiling them rotten.
She is survived by her five children, Jolene (Bob) Hansen, Julie Vaughn, Lori (Mike) Shields, Dennis (Shirley) Juelfs and Donna Reimers; 10 grandchildren: Brent (Shari) Hansen, Brenda (Sean) Mayer, Brandi (John) Zevenbergen, Josh Lau (Kristin Frank), Jenni Lau (Ryan Longwill), Jacob Lau (Kaitlyn Mead), Latrisha (Keenan) Deutsch, Nick (Sharee) Petersen, Tim Hoaglund, David (Emily) Juelfs; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane; grandson, Donny Reimers; her parents, Henry and Opal Henderson; sons-in-law, Joe Reimers and Randy Vaughn; brother, Luane “Louie” Henderson and many cherished family members who passed before her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family. The family would like to give a special thanks to Care Initiatives Hospice, and especially to Ashley and Lexi.
