Brad C. Siefke, born March 30, 1950, Correctionville, lowa lived a life that was anything but ordinary. A proud Marine, devoted animal lover and man who never met a good time he didn't like. Brad leaves behind stories and memories that will not soon be forgotten.

At age 18, Brad answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1968-1972. He served during the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1969 and was awarded the purple heart for injuries suffered during the war. He was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation of the Gallantry Cross. Brad was stationed in Hawaii and served as an instructor at the Marine Corps training school at Bellows Air Force Base. He earned his GED while in the service and carried great pride in being a Marine throughout his life.

After his time in the Marines, Brad continued working in maintenance, construction and other various jobs. He was also drawn to the excitement and adventure of carnival life spending many years traveling with the McDermott family. For Brad, work was never just about making a living it was about meeting people, seeing new places and collecting stories along the way.

Brad had a special love for animals, often saying he loved them more than people. Losing his best dog Gomer was very hard for him but Scooter came along and helped him heal. He had a soft heart for the 4-legged friends who crossed his path and was known for caring deeply for them.

Brad was a man who believed life was meant to be lived. He loved a good time, and those who knew him will remember his sense of adventure, his colorful personality, and his ability to turn any ordinary day into a story worth telling. He never expected to grow old-he simply intended to keep living life on his own terms.

Brad's life was a party, an adventure and sometimes a bit of chaos, but that's exactly what made him Brad.

Brad was proceeded in death by his parents Opal & Carl Siefke; infant sister, Bernice Siefke; brother, Butch Siefke; sisters & brothers in-law, Janet (Sam) Jenkins, Beulah (Roger) Sand, Betty (Larry) Pierce.
