Brant Alan Jeffrey

Brant Jeffrey, age 48, of Correctionville, passed away in his home on August 26, 2026. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville. A graveside service and burial will be at the Correctionville Cemetery on Wednesday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m.

Brant Alan Jeffrey was born December 23, 1977, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Darrell and Hope (Juelfs) Jeffrey (now Lovera). He grew up in Correctionville and attended River Valley High School. After high school, he moved to Montana, became a licensed hunting guide, and worked in both Montana and Colorado. After his guiding days, he returned to Iowa for the remainder of his life.

Brant passed away leaving behind a legacy as wild as the mountains he roamed and as steady as the trucks he drove. He lived life with a GPS set for the open highway and a heart tuned to the outdoors. Brant was happiest with a fishing rod, shotgun, or rifle in his hand. During the time he was a professional guide, he shared his deep love for nature with countless adventurers. He knew the mountains like the back of his hand, tracking elk and mountain lion through dense timber and across rugged ridges. When winter froze the lakes, Brant didn't head indoors. Instead, he packed his gear for ice fishing, proving that no temperature was too cold if there were fish to be caught.

Brant commanded the highway as a cattle hauler. He spent long nights and early mornings behind the wheel ensuring his livestock arrived safely. He possessed the grit, stamina, and standard issue stubbornness required to handle trucking life and live cargo, earning deep respect across the ranching community.Brant was a passionate sports enthusiast. He loved playing baseball and football. For many of his earlier years, he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan riding the highs and lows of every football season with unwavering loyalty.

Brant was also a walking encyclopedia. He possessed an incredible mind for history and trivia, instantly recalling obscure dates, sports statistics, and historical facts. Anyone brave enough to challenge him to a trivia game quickly learned they were playing for second place.

Brant was a man of the outdoors, a storyteller, and a true original who lived life entirely on his own terms. His favorite saying was, “Well, you can’t fix stupid.” He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all those who shared a campfire or a long haul with him.

Brant was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Jeffrey.

He is survived by his mother, Hope Lovera and her husband Frank, of Dubrovnik, Croatia, his brother, Blake Jeffrey, of Des Moines, Iowa and grandmother, Eileen Jeffrey of Correctionville, IA, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
