Carl M. Goodburn

Carl Marvin Goodburn was born October 3, 1955 to Lowell and Ruth (Bruene) Goodburn in Battle Creek, Iowa. He graduated from Eastwood Community High School in 1973. Upon graduation Carl joined the United States Army and was active duty from 1973-1976. He then attended college at the University of Northern Iowa where he earned a BA in History in 1981.

Carl was employed at Walmart in Omaha, NE. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Cushing, Iowa. Carl enjoyed reading, writing poetry and short stories and spending time with family. He was a devoted Cubs and Packers fan, and enjoyed visiting historical sites and astrology.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shari; and his nephew, Tim.

Carl is survived by his siblings, Gary (friend Marilyn) Goodburn of Cushing, Iowa, Joan (Joe) Robbins of Elkhorn, NE, Eric (Christine) Goodburn of Bennington, NE, Mary (Randy) Isaacson of Vermillion, SD, Jody (Jim) Patterson of Chesapeake, VA; seven nieces; nine nephews; and 17 great-nieces and nephews.
