Charles “Chuck” William Ahrendsen was born on October 25, 1921 to William and Goldie (Cameron) Ahrendsen in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Correctionville High School. After High School he entered the Navy during World War II. He was married to Lois Strawn on April 12, 1950. To this union four children were born, David, Greg, Melinda, and Kevin. Chuck was an electrician for the town of Anthon for many years. He served as a volunteer fireman in Anthon as well. He enjoyed fishing, Indian rock hunting and playing croquet in the backyard. Chuck was a very skilled woodworker and could create anything from a stick of wood. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents, Goldie Gates and William Ahrendsen; step-mother, Ida Ahrendsen; step-father, Albert Gates; and brother-in-law, Shorty Mann. Chuck is survived by his children, David and wife Marcie Ahrendsen of Santa Fe, NM, Greg Ahrendsen of Anthon, IA, Melinda and husband Roger Pry of Bronson, and Kevin and wife Dawn Ahrendsen of Correctionville; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Stephanie, Emily, Ashley, Matthew, Derek, and Katie; and six great-grandchildren, Caylee, Shaelyn, Aiden, Carrissa, Aaron and Rebecca; two sisters, Marjorie Mann of Spencer, IA and Marvel Hayes of Carter Lake, IA.
