Donna M. Else

Donna Mae Else (Sorensen) was born on May 29, 1934 in Galva, IA to Raymond and Leona (Schmoldt) Sorensen. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Galva, IA, where she was a member. She attended Galva Consolidated School, graduating with the class of 1951. She met the love of her life, William Eugene Else Sr., and they were married June 14, 1953. They were blessed with four children, Randal William (January 12, 1955) Debra Elaine (December 1, 1956), William Eugene Jr. (April 8, 1960) and Thomas Raymond (October 18, 1961). She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Galva in 1956. They settled in Schaller, IA and were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. They were happily married for 10 years when William Sr. was suddenly killed in a tragic motor vehicle accident while employed with Hallett Construction. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved hearing stories about what was going on in everyone’s lives. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sr. (1963); sons, Randal (1984) and William Jr. (2012); her parents, Raymond and Leona Sorensen; and her brother, Eldon (Jane) Sorensen. Those left to cherish her memory include son, Thomas Else and wife Debby of Holstein; daughter, Debra Gotto of Omaha, NE; ten grandchildren, Brittney and Jordan Else, Mike Vander Wilt, Jeremy, Kendan and Sesha Gotto, Shaun (Shawn) Wolfe, Tonya, Timothy, and Tammy Else; eight great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jessie, Jackson, Shayden, Shayla, Shaymar, Kyler and Kady; brothers, Gordon (Mary) Sorensen, Wendell (Mary Lou) Sorensen, Gaylen (Sandy) Sorensen and sister, LaVonne (Larry) McAtee. Donna was blessed with three extra-special people in her life: daughter-in-law, Debby Jo Else, sisters-in-laws Sandy Sorensen and Judy Else Winterhof. Donna will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
