Evelyn L. Knop

Funeral services for Evelyn L. Knop, age 83, of Lake View, will be held at a later date at the Morgan Township Cemetery of Schleswig.  Evelyn passed away on Saturday, December 06, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her home of Lake View.

Evelyn L. Knop was born on July 27, 1942, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of W. Clinton and Bernice M. Jones. Evelyn grew up on a dairy farm outside of Murdock, Nebraska and graduated from Murdock High School in 1960.

On March 7, 1970, Evelyn was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Knop at the United Methodist Church in Murdock, Nebraska. They made their home in Ricketts, Iowa and were blessed with two daughters, Vicki and Kristie.

Evelyn worked at the bank in Ricketts as a teller and bookkeeper for 30 years before it closed. She then worked for United Bank of Iowa in Charter Oak for 3 years before retiring in 2006. After retirement, Evelyn and Dick moved to Lake View, Iowa where they both enjoyed living in their home on the lake. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ricketts for many years and after moving to Lake View, she became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her home on the lake, spending time with her family, baking, and watching comedies on TV. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who devoted her life to her family.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, W. Clinton and Bernice Jones; husband Richard (Dick) Knop; brother, Dick Jones; and sister Marjorie Lawrence. She is survived by her two daughters: Vicki (Tim) Buell and Kristie (Todd) Bockelmann; brother Edgar (Lee) Jones; two granddaughters: Natalie (Mike) Boshart and Ashley (Cole) Magnussen; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kasen, Sawyer, Walker and Chloe; brother-in-law, Tom Lawrence; nieces, a nephew and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be directed to the family to be dispersed to places meaningful to Evelyn.
