Gloria A. Hink

Gloria Ann Hink, age 85, of Correctionville, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by the love of her family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville with the Pastor Edward Pease officiating. Burial will be at the Correctionville Cemetery of Correctionville.

Gloria Ann Hink was born on November 1, 1940. She spent her life devoted to her family and made her home in Correctionville, where she created a lifetime of memories with those she loved. Gloria was known for her caring heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren. She treasured time spent with family and found her greatest joy in watching them grow and celebrating life’s special moments together.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of many years, David Hink; her children, Ron (Bunny) Hink, Scot (Carol) Hink and Renee (Joe) Kostick; her cherished grandchildren, Jason (Erica) Hink, AJ Fort, Derek Hink, Josie Kostick and Kody Kostick; sister, Margaret Sokolowski and sister-in-law, Florice (Cassens) Dose. Gloria also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Cassens, Anna (Cassens) Henry and John Henry; her brothers, Roland (Marge) Cassens, Leonard (Juanita) Cassens, Ray (Carole) Cassens and Donnie Cassens. 

Gloria was a school teacher by trade and spent years teaching school. Gloria also was a common face you would see in the Valley Drive Inn and Dave’s Pizza place in Correctionville where she worked alongside Dave in their businesses. Gloria also served as the Mayor of Correctionville and was proud to be the first female elected. 

Gloria enjoyed the flowers that filled her yard and watching the birds who visited them. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. Gloria made many beautiful blankets and items which she gave as gifts, each of them cherished by the recipients. 

Gloria will be remembered for the kindness she extended to others and the strength and grace she carried throughout her life. Whether sharing time with family, offering a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of those she loved, Gloria left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. 

Her family will forever cherish the lessons she taught, traditions she passed down and the unconditional love she gave. Though her presence will be greatly missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers and support during this difficult time.
