John M. Leimer, age 73, of Kingsley, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's of Sioux City.

John M. Leimer, age 73, of Kingsley, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's of Sioux City.

John was born on January 5, 1953, to Adolph and Elaine (Vogt) Leimer in Miami, AZ. After graduating from Linn High School in KS, John joined the United States Marine Corps from 1972 until 1997. He also earned his masters degree at ECU.

John was united in marriage to Barbara Hrabosky, on January 2, 1976 in Purdy, MO. Their union was blessed with three children, Joshua, Wendy and Daniel.

Along with John's military career, he worked as a farm hand, school counseler, job corp counsel, VA counseler and for the USFS. He was also a member of the American Legion in North Carolina.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara Leimer; his three children, Josh (Alisa) Leimer of Pea Ridge, AR, Wendy (Robert) Zellmer of Lawton, IA, and Daniel (Laurelyn) Leimer of Kansas City, MO; His two sisters, Christine Voelker of WI and Ann Lee of AZ; His brother, William Leimer of SD and his five grandchildren, Joe, Lucy, Luther, Phobe and Zoe.

John is preceded in death by his parents.
