Karen Ann (Schmidt) Jensen

Karen A. Jensen, age 78, of Holstein, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein.  A visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.  Burial will be held at a later date.

Karen A. Jensen was born June 28, 1943 in Battle Creek, Iowa to Wilber and Katherine (Van Houten) Schmidt.  She was raised in Battle Creek. Karen worked very hard and earned her G.E.D.

During her career she worked at Westendorf in Smithland, then as a CNA at Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove and at the Good Samaritan Society in Holstein.

Karen enjoyed watching Westerns, soap operas and Walker Texas Ranger on television and shopping.  She was a member of the Lutheran faith.  She enjoyed bird watching, especially cardinals.

She is survived by daughter, Penny Martin; granddaughter, April (Steve) Wilcox; grandson, Randall Martin, Jr. (special friend, Shannon Chandler); great-granddaughter, Jade Wilcox; great-grandson, Blaise Wilcox and sister, Jeanette (Jim) Linnenburger and nephews Trent and Troy Linnenburger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Katherine and brother, Larry Schmidt.
