Born in Council Bluffs on February 14th, 1972, Mindy lived her life with joy, strength, and an unshakable faith. She loved deeply and gave freely: her time, her laughter, her light. A woman of unwavering positivity, she brought comfort and happiness to everyone around her.
Mindy spent 31 dedicated years working for Walmart, where she built lasting friendships and a reputation for kindness and hard work. But her favorite roles in life were those of wife, mom, and grandma. Mindy and her husband of 30 years, Tim, shared a deep and steady love. Their marriage was filled with laughter, camping adventures, peaceful mornings, and the everyday moments that mattered most. Their life together was a true partnership, grounded in faith, friendship, and unwavering devotion.
She shared an incredibly close relationship with her daughter, Molly. They were truly best friends. Whether they were out and about together, talking on the phone multiple times a day, or just spending time side by side, their bond was one of love, understanding and constant presence. Mindy found immeasurable joy in being Grandma or “GG” to Charlotte, and her heart overflowed with the arrival of her newest granddaughter, Marlowe, just one week before her passing.
Mindy also had a deep love and appreciation for her son-in-law, Brad, who she adored like one of her own. Their bond was full of laughter, mutual respect, and constant care for each other. He was truly the son-in-law of her dreams.
She loved the little things—sunny days tending to her flowers, camping trips with Tim, Taylor Swift jam sessions with Molly, snuggles with her dogs, and quality time with her sisters. Her laugh was contagious, her spirit unbreakable, and her faith in God shaped every part of who she was.
Mindy is survived by her husband, Tim Grell; daughter, Molly & Brad Kruse; granddaughters, Charlotte and Marlowe Kruse; father-in-law, Butch Grell; siblings, Melissa Joslin, Melody (Sonny) Jordan, Bill (Candy) Joslin and Jeff (Terrie) Joslin; brother-in-law, Jeff (Tracie) Grell, and sister-in-law, Stacey (Kevin) Petersen; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Dick Spencer and Jesse “Bill” Joslin; brother, John Joslin; mother-in-law, Charlene Grell and nephew, Riley Grell.
She carried love in her heart and kindness in everything she did. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever for the joy she gave and kind heart she had.
