Steven J. Rochau, age 61, of Holstein, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Careage Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Cherokee. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein. Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.
Steven J. Rochau was born October 18, 1955 to Jack and Lorraine (Wiese) Rochau in Cherokee, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein. Steven was a 1973 graduate of Holstein High School.
Throughout his life, Steven worked in the family trucking business, at Royal Scot Sales, at Farner Bocken, Schwan’s, and at the First Coop Association until his illness. He enjoyed fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, going on country drives, and listening to Elvis Presley music. He looked forward to his annual Minneapolis Viking’s game with friends. Steven’s favorite car was his Mercury Mountaineer.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Rochau of Holstein, IA; sister, Karen (Tom) Scott of Lindstrom, MN; brothers, Jerry Rochau of Battle Creek, IA and Keith Rochau (special friend Pam Kay) of Holstein, IA; aunt, Bonnie Wiese and uncle, Eldon Wiese; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack on May 26, 1985; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Svanhilde Rochau; maternal grandparents, Herman and Christina Wiese; aunts and uncles, Hermina Wiese, Edna and Lawrence Steen, Luella and Melvin, Eva Wiese and Alvin Wiese.
