Adaline Schuett Obituary

Adaline Y. Schuett, age 96, of Trenton, MO, formerly of Holstein, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home of Trenton, MO.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Holstein with the Rev. Doresa K. Collogan officiating.  Per the congregations request, please wear a mask for the funeral service.  Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein. Memorials are suggested to Sunnyview Nursing Home Landscaping Project, the North 65 Center in Trenton, Missouri or the American Legion Auxiliary in Holstein, Iowa.

Adaline was born in Holstein, Iowa on January 14, 1924 to Henry and Hazel Ewoldt. She graduated from Holstein High School where she played clarinet in the award-winning band. On January 16, 1943, she married LeRoy Schuett in Madison, Wisconsin where he was stationed during World War II. Two sons, Gary and Dennis, were born to this union. After the war they moved to the family farm northwest of Holstein and farmed there until retiring to town in 1987.

Adaline loved to play golf, cards, and eat out with friends. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. She loved being a Hugger Clown, performing as “Twinkle-Toes” in a group of friends that visited nursing homes throughout the area. 

Left to celebrate her life are her sons Gary (Joyce) of Trenton, Missouri, Dennis (Emily) of Santa Barbara, California; grandchildren, Michael Schuett, Robert (Amy) Schuett and Jennifer Smith; great-grandchildren, Brenna, Xander, Mara, Connor, and Carter Schuett, Myles and Adryelle Thornburg, Miya Smith and Teranea (Zack) Swanson; and great-great-grandchild Ashton Swanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
