Alan Craig Kuchel

 Alan C. Kuchel, age 72, of Holstein, passed away on Monday, April 06, 2020 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center of Cherokee. A private family burial will be held at the Holstein Cemetery.  

Alan Craig Kuchel was born September 21, 1947 in Cherokee, Iowa to Lowell and Winifred (Rohlk) Kuchel.  He was a graduate of Holstein High School and earned an Associates Degree from Webster City Community College and continued education by studying Airline Training at home.

Alan worked for Delta Airlines for 35 years as an Operations Manager then for VT Industries for several years after his retirement from Delta.  He worked in Chicago, West Palm Beach, Denver and Cincinnati before coming back to Holstein where he spent the remaining 18 years of his life.

Alan was an avid fan of Hawkeye football, Iowa State University athletics and the Denver Broncos.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and playing cards.  Alan loved traveling and went on several trips to Alaska, Australia and to many football bowl games including the Rose Bowl.

He is survived by his sisters, Linda Wright of Correctionville, IA and Teresa Blenner of North Liberty, IA; nieces and nephews, Jen and Mike Kerns and daughter Lisa of Anthon, IA; Josh and Shannon Wright and children Jake and Sloan of Las Vegas, NV; Kelsey and Shane Bumsted and their children Grant, Collin and Nora of Solon, IA; Hillary and John Walsh and their children, Parker and Blakely of Holstein, IA and Jami Blenner and her dog Sully of Sioux Falls, IA; many cousins and all of his Delta co-workers and friends.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother-in-law; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
