Ardyth "Ardie" L. (Watson) Heyer

Ardyth  “Ardie” L. Heyer, age 86 of Cushing, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Morningside Care Center of Ida Grove.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:30 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville with Rev. Tami Groth officiating.  Burial will be at the Correctionville & Midway Cemeteries of Correctionville.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 starting one hour prior to the service 1:30PM – 2:30PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville. 

Ardyth LaRae Heyer was born November 24, 1933 to Orville and Irene (Goettsch) Watson.  She graduated from Correctionville High School in 1953.

Ardyth was united in marriage Darrell L. Bottjen on February 10, 1955.  To this union one daughter, Patricia Dee was born.  Darrell passed away on January 9, 1958.  She married Robert G. Heyer on February 28, 1959.  The couple was blessed with four children, Pamela, Paula, Gale and Pennie.  Robert passed away on October 27, 2010.

Ardyth was a lifelong resident of the Correctionville area, and enjoyed being a housewife and mother.  She loved caring for her tomato plants and houseplants and enjoyed doing embroidery.  Ardyth was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Midway and later a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Cushing.  

She is survived by her children, Patty (John) Myers of Pekin, IL, Pam (Jim) Teague of Holstein, IA, Paula (Jon) Steuk of Early, IA, Gale (Jackie) Heyer of Moville, IA and Pennie (Jason) Kohn of Cushing, IA; six grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Lawson, Nick (Theresa) Hofstader, Michelle (Bryan) Little, Cody (Wendy) Hofstader, Tim Schroeder, Nikki (Josh) Logan and John Riley Bensley IV "J.R."; 13 great-grandchildren, Adeline, Lawson, Lincoln, Eloise, Lauren, Lillian, Lexy, Averie, Scarlett, Emma, Lillie, Liara, Maddy and Derek and many nieces and nephews.

Ardyth was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Irene Watson, both husbands, Darrell Bottjen and Robert Heyer; a granddaughter, baby Hofstader; and a sister, Shirley Gray.
