Delores Ruth (Johnson) Frahm

Delores R. Frahm, age 97, of Syracuse, New York, formerly of Holstein, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Syracuse, New York. There will be a private burial at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein, Iowa. 

Delores Ruth Frahm was born February 23, 1925 in Dunlap, Iowa to John and Ruth (Mullen) Johnson.  She attended high school in Dunlap and afterwards earned a license from beautician school in Omaha, Nebraska.  She came back to Holstein, Iowa and opened her own salon.  Later she also worked in Storm Lake as a hairdresser.  

Delores was united in marriage to Gaylin Frahm on September 3, 1949 in Holstein, Iowa.  During her first 72 years she lived in Dunlap, Holstein and Storm Lake, Iowa, then moved to Ocala and Inverness, Florida where she spent the next 16 years working for a local beauty salon.  She moved to Syracuse, NY in 2013 to be with her brother, nieces and nephews.

In her free time, Delores kept busy volunteering for Hospice and by providing transportation to senior citizens for their appointments.  She made many friends in Iowa as well as in Florida.

Delores is survived by her brother, Roger Johnson of Syracuse, NY and multiple nieces and nephews from South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylin; and her brother Dale Johnson.
