Kathleen Faye (Peters) Rasmussen
October 17, 1933 ~ November 18, 2023 (age 90) 90 Years Old
Kathleen F. Rasmussen, age 90, of Galva, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center of Storm Lake. A funeral will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church of Galva with Rev. Paul D. Egger officiating. Burial will be at the Galva Township East Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to invite you to join them for a coffee/dessert time at the church following the burial.
Kathleen Faye Rasmussen, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away November 18, 2023 at the Buena Vista Hospital in Storm Lake following a brief illness.
Kathy was born October 17, 1933 to Joseph and Beulah Draheim. She was later adopted by Leslie Peters. Kathy grew up in Denison and spent the remainder of her life in the Schaller/Galva, Iowa area. She was a strong woman of faith who loved praying with and for others. Kathy was always known for her baking (apple bars), cooking (meatballs and creamed potatoes & ham), gardening and family time. Collecting antiques was a passion of hers. She loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes) and listening to music by The BeeGees, Kenny Rogers and Elvis for sure!
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Jr. Rasmussen, Richard Rasmussen and Donald “Andy” Andresen; her parents; her sister Joan Beerman and infant grandson Branden Jennings.
She is survived by her six children: Jim of Galva, IA, Dean (Gaye) of Lavon, TX, Terry (Lisa) of Schaller, IA, KayLynn of Naubinway, MI, Karla of Rowlett, TX and Craig (LaDonna) of Galva, IA; nine grandchildren: Dustin, Cassie, Whitney, Eric, Taryn, Brent, Brea, Alayna & Makayla; nine great-grandchildren: Austin, Siyah, Theodore, Emilia, Remington, Derek, Draco, Athena, Dexter and two more on the way soon! She is also survived by her brother, Richard Peters of Dallas, TX; and her sister, Carol Wendel of Schaller, IA.
