Lois Kloewer Obituary

Lois J. Kloewer, age 87, of Moville, passed away on November 30, 2023 at her home in Moville.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday,  December 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Moville with Pastor Jane Johnston officiating.  A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Moville. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery of Moville. 

Lois J. Kloewer was born October 11, 1936 to Daniel and Izora (Tenney) Corey in Omaha, Nebraska.  She grew up in rural Concord, Nebraska and graduated from Lyons High School in Lyons, Nebraska.  

Lois was married to Roy Martin on June 11, 1960 in Sioux City, Iowa.  Together they raised six children.  Roy passed away on August 15, 1987.  She was later married to Harold Kloewer on May 19, 1994 in Moville, Iowa.  Harold passed away on November 23, 2021.

Growing up, Lois worked on the farm with her father.  After she was married she worked for Genelli’s Photography and was an in home daycare provider for more than 30 years. She was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, active in 4-H and spent many years dressed up as the Easter Bunny for Moville’s Easter Egg hunts.  Lois regularly volunteered at her church, the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville.  She loved following her children’s sports, then later all of the many activities that her grandchildren participated in.  She also enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends.

She is survived by her sons, Irv (Kelly) Martin of Moville, IA, Matt (Tami) Martin of Remsen, IA and Jon (Maria) of Omaha, NE; stepdaughter, Melissa Cavalieri of Papillion, NE; grandchildren, Jordan, Ashley, Jessica, Jacob, Anna and Abigail; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Izora; husbands, Roy Martin and Harry Kloewer; daughters, Lee Ann Luck and Laura Marhenke; son, Doug Martin and step-daughter, Michelle Stovie.
