Phyllis Ann Prodehl

Phyllis A. Prodehl, age 88, of Moville, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Sunrise Retirement Community of Sioux City.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Moville with Pastor Harold Werley officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Arlington Cemetery of Moville.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

  Phyllis A. Phyllis Ann Prodehl was born February 17, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl F. and Hazel (Griep) Prodehl.  She was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Morningside College, earning a degree in teaching.  Phyllis was a teacher in the Omaha Schools for 36 years.  She used to joke that she never got out of the third grade.

Phyllis was a dedicated volunteer.  She received the American Red Cross Hero’s Award and the Governor’s Award for volunteering within the Moville community.  Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Moville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and caring for plants.

Phyllis is survived by several cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
